If you build it, they will come...that is what people in one North Central Florida community are believing. And with that Newberry broke ground for a ballpark complex for youth baseball and softball. Seven million dollars will fund the project which came from the Alachua County's bed tax. Once finished in December there will be a total of 16 fields. The community expects about 75,000 visitors each year which should bring in more jobs to the area. Newberry hopes to double the park to 32 fields in the future which would then make it the biggest baseball complex in the world.
